Diwali in Berlin returns for its 5th edition on Saturday, November 7, 2026 — a night of love, light & laughter at Jules B-Part am Gleisdreieck.

Berlin's biggest night of Indian culture lands at Jules B-Part am Gleisdreieck in Kreuzberg on Saturday, November 7, 2026. Now in its 5th consecutive edition, Diwali in Berlin is organised by Wedesi Berlin, the same team behind Holi in Berlin and The Great Indian Food Festival. The day pairs an opening diya ceremony, classical Bharatanatyam and Kathak, sitar and tabla, live Bollywood-fusion dance, open-mic Bollywood karaoke, dhol drums, stand-up comedy, Bhangra × Dandiya, and a closing Bollywood party with Berlin's best Indian street-food kitchens, rain or shine.

Diwali means “a row of lights.” Diwali in Berlin opens the festival the way it has been opened across India for centuries: hundreds of diyas lit together, a short blessing, and the room settles. Then everything else begins: colour, rhythm, food you'll queue for, and a crowd that came here to dance.

Programming spans an opening diya ceremony, an Indian classical sitar and tabla ensemble, live Bollywood-fusion and Bharatanatyam / Kathak dance showcases, an open-mic Bollywood karaoke stage, Punjabi dhol drums, a bilingual English–Hindi stand-up comedy hour, a Bhangra × Dandiya circle, and a bass-heavy Bollywood party DJ set to close the night. Around the stage sit Berlin's best Indian and South Asian kitchens (North Indian mains and mithai, Nepali momos, Gujarati snacks, chaat, Mumbai street, Indo-Chinese, South Indian dosa and curry, and samosas), a diya-lit market of independent Indian makers, and a dedicated kids' zone.

The festival sits in the mid-November slot that anchors the Diwali season worldwide, open to families during the day (kids under 16 go free), after-work crowds from late afternoon, and the full multicultural festival crowd through the evening. Jules B-Part am Gleisdreieck was chosen for its step-free access, central transit links (U1/U3 Gleisdreieck, 7-minute walk), and ability to host outdoor and indoor programming side-by-side.

Across 2025, Wedesi festivals (Holi in Berlin, Diwali in Berlin, and The Great Indian Food Festival) brought together more than 50,000 attendees, making Wedesi one of Berlin's largest cultural festival organisers and a top organiser on Celebratix.

“Love, light and laughter — that's the whole invitation. Saturday 7 November, Jules B-Part hosts the biggest night of Indian culture Berlin has ever staged: classical dance, live music, Bollywood, comedy and food, all under one sky.”— Wedesi Berlin, organiser of Diwali in Berlin

Story angles

A few directions journalists have already taken. Pitch your own, and we'll help you build it out.

The Diwali-in-Europe story

Berlin's biggest night of Indian culture, now in its fifth edition and moving to a bigger venue in Kreuzberg. A case study in how a diaspora festival became a fixture in a European capital.

The diaspora story

The Indian and South Asian community in Berlin: how it grew, where it gathers, and why Wedesi has become the connective tissue between newcomers, second-generation Berliners, and the wider city.

The Wedesi story

How a Berlin community platform, best known for Holi in Berlin, became one of the city's largest cultural festival organisers with over 50,000 attendees across 2025.

The Kreuzberg / Gleisdreieck story

Jules B-Part am Gleisdreieck as a new-generation Berlin venue: outdoor, step-free, transit-served. Chosen deliberately over a club to keep the festival open to families and first-timers.
